Always look for a chaise lounge chair that has a multi-position back. This will allow you to achieve optimum comfort through adjusting the back to suit your needs. Whether you are lying down to take in the sun's rays or a mid afternoon nap, or sitting fully upright to read, a chaise lounge chair should provide this range of movement and everything in between.

Make sure the chair has a high density foam cushion of at least 3" thick to support your back and maximize relaxation. The thicker cushions are preferred and are superior to the 2" and even 1" thick cushions which are available. The thinner the cushion the likelihood that over time you will feel the frame through the cushion when you are lying down and you will need to replace it sooner.

In most cases people buy chaise lounge chairs to go beside a pool or spa so the chairs will be constantly wet. In these circumstances it is advisable to select a fabric which is mold and mildew resistant. Sunbrella fabric has these qualities and in addition is fade resistant so is perfect for use in wet environments.

Unless you live in a climate where you have year round sunny weather, you will want to store your outdoor lounge chairs during the off-season. With everything else that sits neglected in your garage the last thing you need is bulky patio furniture to add to the chaos. Fortunately there are wicker chaise lounge chairs which have collapsible legs and are stackable, making winter storage hassle free.
